Powell Furniture Glossy Silver U-Shaped 50" Plasma Stand with Black Tempered Glass Shelves

This is a great product. I was reluctant to order this piece online because it had a painted gray frame. I have similar pieces t
hat have a gray finish and have tarnished quickly. This has not been the case with this piece.
When it arrived, I was able to quickly assemble the stand without using the directions. It was very straight forward, and used simple, common tools.
Once assembled, I began to load my components on the shelves with ease. The unit does have a wire management area on the back and I was able to conceal: 6 Speaker Wires, 2 HDMI Cables, 3 Components Cables, and lastly, 5 Power Cords. This is very important to me because I hate to see dangling cords behind the unit. It did not come with any wire ties, however, I did use some and attached one to the rear of the unit in the perforated section to assist with the wire concealment. It may have taken ten minutes to get it right...
Now that it is all done, I have had nothing but compliments from all my friends. It is the same width (+/- 1") as my TV and looks like something out of a catalog.
Oh, the only con, be ready to dust this piece about once every week and a half. The black glass tends to show dust accumulation.

Bush Furniture Segments Swivel Plasma TV Stand in Black

Assembly: Unpacking the box, you might be initially intimidated by all the baggies of nuts, screws, bolts, etc. Don't be; most o
f the included fasteners are provided so as to accommodate the myriad ways in which different manufacturers wall-mount their units. Assembly does require two people, as the tempered glass shelves are weighty and long, and you really need someone to help with lining up the holes in the shelves with the pegs and rods in the supports. I'd suggest separating all the screws and parts you need for assembly of the unit from those you only need for mounting the TV, as it will make things a lot easier for you. The provide just enough glue for the wooden pegs, so you might wish to pick up a small bottle of wood glue in case you use too much in the early stages of assembly. That being said, assembly is not as hard as it seems, and myself and a friend got it done in about an hour and change, allowing about 10 minutes each time we needed to glue wooden pegs into place.Function and Appearance: Don't be fooled by its simple design, the stand looks really sharp. I ordered the black finish for mine, and the glossy black finish coupled with the black tempered glass gives it a sleek, if somewhat understated look. Swivel is smooth and steady, bracket mount is secure, and glass shelves are solid and able to support components without bowing. Note: DO NOT move the unit by the top shelf, as it is only fastened in the rear-center of the unit. That being said, I've shifted and moved the unit by the second shelf with a 55" Samsung 950 mounted to it without any problem. That's another pro - it WILL allow the mounting of larger than 50" TVs, just be sure to check the specs for your TV, particularly the weight.[...]
