My wife was always complaining about my paperwork cluttering our tables. Now I can store it in files or shelves. Or hide it awa
y from view in the drawer, without disorganization, until the company leaves. I guess I have to admit, my clutter was a mess. I would give it 5 Stars if it didn't takes so much time to assemble.

First, let me say that the desk is a fabulous addition to my family room and on the surface looks great. It adds a classic, warm
homeliness to the look and feel of the entire room. The dark wood "look" does that ... I am mostly pleased with how it fits in the house, and it matches perfectly with all my other dark wood furniture. But there are a handful of cons that I have to be honest about. First, the desk is not solid wood, except for the actual desktop and the doors. It's mostly sturdy particle board with smoothed faux wood surfaces. But it more than makes up for this fact with its classic design and sturdiness. It looks good, it looks like real wood, it feels like a fine piece of furniture. Only you know it's not solid wood through and through ... I feel it was a good buy for the price because the cost of solid wood must be up in the thousands of dollars, which I absolutely cannot afford ... [...]The desk and hutch arrive in 2 large , heavy rectangular boxes. There were little nicks in the wood here and there, which was no big deal, and the glass doors were intact, thank goodness!!!!! But one of the last pieces of the desk that I unpacked was very badly cracked!!! I considered sending the whole thing back for a minute... What a pain that would have been... Who wants to repack all that stuff and wait another month for a new desk to arrive? ... But luckily for me, the damaged piece fit to the back of the desk, underneath — where your knees are — so the damage is virtually invisible unless you're crawling underneath the foot area. For me, I just let that slide because everything else was basically fine. If you're especially picky about things like that though, unlike me, well, you know, you'll be really upset about it ... On the flip side, the desktop itself, being the most important piece of the entire desk, was flawless!!! It arrived in perfect condition. For the unsightly little nicks in the other wood, I got one of those wood stain pens, and that virtually eliminated them, like they were never there. The last biggie here is assembly. I had to hire a handyman to put this thing together. It took him nearly 6 hours to complete, and no it wasn't cheap. There was no way I could've put this desk together myself with two small children running around. Forget about it. [...] It's worth it. Also, the desk is not as heavy assembled as it is in the boxes.... Good luck!
