This is a great chair but it took me a couple weeks to realize it.
I've been used to cheap office chairs with cushioned seats.
The kind you would get at your local big box office store. Those chairs always fail after a couple months so I figured I'd switch to a higher quality chair. I've heard mesh chairs hold up better over time and offer more support to your body. A colleague recommended this Office Star chair so I decided to take the plunge.
The first thing I notice was the quality of materials. The frame is completely solid steel. Unlike the mostly plastic chairs I've had previously this thing looks like it is built to last.
The second thing I noticed while using it was that it was very uncomfortable. For about two weeks. If you've never used a mesh seat chair before be prepared for an adjustment period. The mesh feels quite a bit harder then the typical cushion seat. The back of my upper thighs were really sore for about 1.5-2 weeks. So sore that I considered sending the chair back. I decided to try it a little longer though and I'm glad I did. I don't know if my body got used to the seat or the mesh loosened up a bit but now it is very comfortable to sit in. It is still more firm then a cushioned seat but in a good way. Anyway, don't be too quick to judge it. Try it out until at least near the end of your return period. Somewhere around two weeks it'll feel nice. All that said, if you are already used to a firm mesh seat then you probably won't have any problems.
The only thing this chair is lacking that I wish it had are fully adjustable arms. These go up and down but they don't swivel or go forward and back. Also, a seat that could tilt independent of the back would be a great addition. However, I knew this chair didn't have those features when I bought it so I can't ding them for it.
All-in-all a nice chair, just give it time to break it in first.
